The home on the corner of Route 1 and the Lycette Road belonging to Lisa Hostetler was completely destroyed in a fast moving fire Sunday morning according to the March 31, 2008 Bangor Daily News.
The Houlton Fire Department responded as quickly as it could; Houlton Chief Milton Cone said the second story of the house had collapsed by the time they arrived. Firefighters from Houlton were assisted by the Hodgdon Fire Department.
Hostetler and her three children, having been away over night, were not at home at the time. It is believed a family pet died in the fire. The home was insured according to Chief Cone. The State Fire Marshall's office will be investigating.

Amity Matters has been asked by several residents if we would look into some questions they had concerning the 2007 Audit Report. Amity Matters has confirmed that there is an on-going investigation involving the appropriate State agencies. Considering this is an on-going investigation, we will not be reporting on this until there are further developments worthy of reporting. We will try to keep a close eye on this to keep you informed as soon as such developments occur.
