Amity Loses "Mayor"

Amity residents are saddened by the sudden passing of the town's "Mayor".

Amity’s “Mayor”, Thomas R. Hall Sr., only 69 at the time of his passing and will be greatly missed by the Town of Amity. Tommy was born in Weston to Ruby (Willette) and stepfather, Cleve Hall on November 20, 1938. He was married to Gloria “Jeannie” (Goodall) Hall for 49 years with whom he raised three children, Thomas Jr. and Robin Bashman both of Rochester, NH, Toby of Bridgewater, Maine and their spouses He is also survived by his four grandchildren. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, William and Janice Hall of Amity and Donald and Marie Hall of Linneus, As well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tom was a parishioner of the Amity Baptist Church and he will be missed by the many friends and neighbors he has helped through the years. He will not be forgotten by Amity’s local government for all the assistance he gave them as our self-appointed “Mayor”. He will be remembered for all the work he and Billy put into refurbishing the Estabrook Cemetery where his ancestors rest.

Friends may call at the Bower’s Funeral Home on Water Street, Houlton from 11 am until noon. Rev. Reg Corey will conduct the funeral at noon and burial will be in the Estabrook Cemetery in Amity.
